Project A1: Doctoral Researcher – Performance Analysis and Optimization for MPSoCs
Hardware/Software Co-Design at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is looking to fill the position of a
(Pay Grade TV-L E 13)
as soon as possible.
This is a limited position. The position serves for continued scientific training including the possibility to attain a doctorate degree.
Your Working Environment:
The research group System-Level Design Automation at Hardware/Software Co-Design, FAU focuses on the automatic design of embedded hardware/software systems. The post advertised investigates the automatic analysis and optimization of applications on future multi- and many-core architectures. The vacancy is part of the Transregional Collaborative Research Center 89 "Invasive Computing" and offers—due to the interdiscplinary collaboration with doctoral researchers from FAU, TUM, and KIT—an excellent scientific environment and various development opportunities and possibilities for qualifications.
Your Duties:
- As part of your doctoral research, we provide guidance as well as as the freedom for theoretical examination of techniques for the optimization and analysis of applications on future multi- and many-core architectures.
- You work on innovative design-time methods to predict the quality numbers of applications on different resources within heterogeneous multi- and many-core architectures.
- You will investigate centralised vs. distributed run-time requirement enforcement as well as strict vs. loose run-time requirement enforcement.
Your profile:
- You have a Master's or Diploma degree in computer science or a related subject.
- You have skills and interest in optimization and analysis in the area of embedded or multi- and many-core systems.
- You enjoy working in a team, are open minded and communicative, and are interested in both theoretical as well as practical aspects of technical systems.
